You have inspired me to take some "winter" photos around my yard... soon.

I could hardly believe that the roses are blooming. Lo! How the roses e'er blooming! I'm supposed to be cutting them down to the stems. How could I possibly do that now? Will have to sneak attack between blooms, I guess.

I am soooooooooooo jealous! I could post January pictures of Michigan...but that would be depressing! Actually I kind of did I guess, with the cardinal and the deck...sad.

That was sad. But a nice photo none the less. Winter can be gorgeous--wish I had more snow! (the grass is always greener on... wait... the snow is always whiter on...?)

And that cardinal photo of dawn's is here. It is sad. But, like poetry, photography isn't obligated to always inspire happy emotions.

Beautiful photos. I especially like the one of the shoots.

I seem to recall you taunting us northern dwellers with photos like this last year... Sigh. But keep taunting, I am enjoying the vicarious California living.

Oh, and I still can't believe you have oranges *in your yard*. As in, not in a grocery bag in your yard, but on *actual orange trees* *in your yard*.

[Chuckles] Not only do *I* have an orange tree in my yard, but so does everyone else. There are certain times of the year when everyone is offering everyone else free oranges. I hardly ever eat mine. They're sometimes sour or too dry. Sometimes they're tasty but I'm too lazy to keep trying. Also popular for giving away: Apricots. I don't have one of those, but seemingly everyone else does. Actually I have *3* orange trees in my yard and a lemon tree. Grapefruit tree fell over in a storm. Maybe I mentioned all this last year, too.
