    Slower in class than usual.     At a trial: Low energy, then refusing to run. Looks in pain. Sleeping lots.

Gag/coughing. Refusing food.
To vet. Anemic, dehydrated. Treat for bronchitis. Sleeping lots. Sleeping lots; looking better in afternoon. Through Sept. and Oct., tiring quickly at trials; sometimes runs fast & carefree, other times cautiously and subdued; sometimes slow to start eating meals; one evening suddenly in pain & miserable--thought had pulled muscle, was better in a.m.

Abruptly ill: hanging head and tail, won't eat, moaning when lies down. To emergency. Determined: Internal bleeding. Dehydrated, anemic, fluid & mass in heart. Hemangio. diagnosed. Fluid aspirated. Spends night at home. Operation by scope to open window in pericardium. Adriamycin given. Antibiotics 10 days started. Recovers well. Home midday with 5-day Fentanyl patch. Dopey. Sleeps. Stiff. Unsteady. Tired. Goes for short walk. Ate most breakfast. Eats breakfast reluctantly. Bandages off; t-shirt on. Two short walks. Played a little. Did tricks. Ate dinner happily.

Starts looking perky. Hates t-shirt.
Dog is happy. Diarrhea since operation, doing #2 only once/day. Cottage cheese/rice/chicken baby food diet. Seems almost normal. Stitches out, t-shirt off. Has lost 4 lbs in a week. White cells still low. White still low. Start 4 days antib's. Acts completely normal and healthy.

Changing slowly from rice etc. to canned Canine N/D.
Very healthy/active. White still low. White normal. 1st Cytoxan pill A little diarrhea. 2nd Cytoxan. Happy/active. 3rd Cytoxan. Still diarr. (Cut foot, now in bandages & stitches; start 10 days antib?)

Healthy. (Pulls foot bandages off. Now in splint.)
Happy/active. White OK. 1st Cytoxan pill 2nd Cytoxan. 3rd Cytoxan. No diarr. this time around.

  "Rem looks great." Adriamycin. (Stitches/splint off, still bandages.) No ill effects from adria except maybe a little tummy--some gagging.   Had to go out at night several times to pee. Still some gagging.

  White cells low. (Bandages off foot. Still sore.) Droopy in a.m.; Played wildly in p.m. White still low; start 7 days antib. (Not limping any more.) Fun match; no interest in running. Liked to walk around.

[gave Cytoxan here? Need to check--] Ultrasound shows tumor shrunk maybe 75%! Ran tentatively, then happily in class, not superfast.

Probably bleeding. White marginally low; red marginally low (36.5 vs normal 37). 1st Cytoxan. Weight holding steady at 52.5. Loves his special canned food. 2nd Cytoxan. Bleeding. Late night, suddenly droopy and lethargic. Shivering. Gums grayish. To emergency. Red at 30. Stays overnight. Bleeding. Red 24 by morning. 20 afternoon. Evening back to 23, but dropped overnight to 17? Red blood transfusion. Red up to 24. Fluid in chest. Adriamycin a week early. Finally home in eve. Red to 33. Sleeping lots. Gag/coughing. Start Pepcid A/C for tummy. Alert, happy, active. A little gagging.

Plays for first time since xmas.
  Continues bright, cheerful. Runs full tilt at gopher park.

Ran around like crazy at another park. Ultrasound shows chest clear of fluids. Very fast at trial.

Very fast a.m. at trial, end of day much slower.
White cells low. 2 more days antib. Perky, active, heart sounds good,looks great.   White OK. 1st Cytoxan. Happy, active, alert. 2nd Cytoxan. Happier & healthier than since before August. 3rd Cytoxan.

SO healthy, happy, active.       Blood count good. 1st Cytoxan. Long walk in a.m., much digging. Eve: Hunched over, slow, tail/head down. Cough/gagging overnight. Better in a.m. 2nd Cytoxan.

3rd Cytoxan.
  Vomits dinner. A little tummy upset. Still active, but something's changed. Slight anemia: 34.Probably bleeding. Grumbly tummy, diarrhea. Back to rice, cott chs & kaopectate. Droopy, grouchy. Refused breakfast. Dehydrated. Vet's: no fluid in chest. Subcutaneous fluids. Vomited 1 spoonful of dinner. Taking metronizadole, Metoclopramide, Pepcid A/C. Ate well. Still slow. Eagerly watched sheep for hour+.

Bleeding. White down; red 29. Low energy. Eats chicken, not rice or cott chs. Weight down 1.5 lbs. Red up to 34. Perkier later in day. Ultrasound shows tumor back to where it started. Adriamycin. Eating. Happy but subdued. Low energy. Enjoyed walk. Eats chicken, not rice or ct chs. Perkier.

Walking around & visiting for 6 hours at party.
Happy, active, wild, exuberant. Eats everything. Very happy.   (sometime) Took him off N/D canned food; back to kibble. Notice he's losing muscle tone in rear. Agility trial: Eager at start, mostly running but not fast.

Trial: slowing way down. Brief spurts of energy when playing.
Appetite good. No meds at the moment. Reserving energy. Playful but easily tires.     Has been happy, alert, reserving energy. Refused breakfast. Oh-oh. Leave for weekend in OR. OR: Explored fields and woods. Never faster than a trot but happy. Subdued. Probably bleeding.

Bleeding. OR: Very slow. Liked being out but dragged near me. Refused kibble breakfast but ate canned N/D. Gums very pale. Giving lots of fluids. Eve: respiratory rate 30+. Restless, uncomfortable, disoriented, exhausted.
Bleeding. OR: Ate my ham but nothing else. Red down to 17. Drive home. Red to 15. Can't even sit up to look out window, his fave. Transfusion overnight. Fluid in chest. Adriamycin, since it's maybe stopped bleeding before. Pulled from all agility trials; officially retired. Eve: came home. Livelier. Red to 28. Red to 31. Alert, slightly active. Eats some human food but not dogfood, sleeping lots.   Red 43. Eats only chicken or chicken baby food, no others, no rice, no cott chs. Springy/active walk. p.m. ate chicken canned food. No fluid in chest. Springy step. Running and pulling to go look at cows at trial.

Looking happy & healthy. Not super active. Eating everything. But after dinner refused popcorn. Bleeding. Suddenly droopy. Uncomfortable overnight. Bleeding. Looks miserable. Gums pale pink. Red down to 32. IV fluids all afternoon. Sleeping lots. Refused goodies, ate some canned chicken food. Gag/coughing overnight. Bleeding. Slightly perkier. Happy to walk but draggy. Slowly ate some canned chicken, a few kibbles. Sleeping lots. Bleeding. Red 22. To gopher park. Mildly interested, draggy. Sleeping lots. Eve: suddenly perkier. Red up to 24. Slow but eating meat happily. Looks happy but tired. Sleeping lots.

Breathing sounds stuffy. Me too. Allergies? Brisk walk. Eve.: ate some kibble for 1st time in a week. Ate dog goodies; did tricks cheerfully. Not eating much in a.m.; more in p.m. Tricks OK but seems weak. Still sneezy. Still gagging. Tried to play. Nursed on squirrel toy. More gagging. Nose stuffed up and very dry; started antib. Diarrhea gone. Ate fairly happily. Nose stuffy. Brisk walk. Eager to eat but ate little. Coughed bloody phlegm. Blood count 37. Still stuffy, still gagging. Eats chicken but nothing else. Seizures in early morning. Put to sleep.
